EUGENE, Ore. - Sophomore soccer goalkeeper Kyle Carlson set a Willamette High School record against Woodburn with 18 saves.
His goal this year is to be the first team all-state goalkeeper.
Off the field, he strives for a 4.0 GPA and is called a “goofy” guy by his coach and teammates.
He’s been playing soccer his entire life and plays club soccer for Eugene Metro in the off season.
His coach says Carlson's ability to dive, react and launch make him a great goalkeeper. Only a sophomore, the coach says the sky is the limit for Carlson - and sees the college game in his future.
