My favorite time of the year, college hoops season has officially begun with the Ducks 82-75 win over Grand Canyon Wednesday night. I know most of you are engulfed in the Ducks 7-1 football season and getting ready for that pivotal game with Stanford next week but before you know it, like November 11th, the Ducks will be playing Vanderbilt in their hoops opener (yeah that's 8 days away, before the Stanford game). Must say that the team looked a bit shaky but that's to be expected in the first exhibition game of the season. I will say that they do look athletic and after watching what Altman did in year one, he'll have that team ready to go by the time conference play rolls around. Guys to watch for, obviously Singler the home state favorite, and everyone's early hopeful Jabari Brown. I am excited about Olu Ashaolu but was disappointed because he fouled out in an exhibition game. Only time will tell with him. I LOVE THE NBA!!! And the fact that there is no season right now is absolutely killing me! The crazy part about the whole thing is that I think there are more people who actually do care that there will be no basketball than people who don't. Come on people, the league is loaded with talent right now, and has some of the most intriguing storylines ever! Lebron James and the Heat being top of the list for, will the super team capture a title? Also I want to see what KobeKobe play my Warriors tonight if the rich kids could have figured this whole thing out last May. Also I know the people here love the Blazers, I get E-mails and calls all the time about them, they are the only pro sport of the 4 majors in the entire state and need to get back on the court immediately. Unfortunately for us fans, I really don't see this thing coming to a resolution any time soon (at least not soon enough for a legitimate season). So for now, enjoy the football season while it lasts and hope the Ducks and Beavers can give that hoops fix you deserve. has left in the tank. Don't like the Lakers (I am a die-hard Warriors fan) but would like to see probably one of the 5 greatest players ever while he still has something left. Would have seen
