EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- A Eugene woman has died from her injuries after being hit by a van Tuesday night in West Eugene.
58-year-old Jolene Louise Parrish of Eugene died Wednesday morning, December 13, according to Eugene Police.
Police says Parrish was hit by a westbound Volkswagen Vanagon on Royal Avenue Tuesday night around 5:49 PM. The crash happened in front of the Albertson's grocery store, part of the Royal West Center.
Police say witness saw Parrish diagonally crossing Royal Avenue, heading in a northbound direction when she was hit.
Eugene Police’s Major Collision Investigation team closed off the intersection between Danebo and Candlelight Drive for several hours Tuesday night to investigate the crash.
The driver, 60-year-old Deborah Ann Douglas of Eugene has not been cited or charged in the crash. Douglas was uninjured.
Eugene Police say it appears alcohol is a factor in the crash. However, they have not confirmed who was possibly drinking.
