EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) - Police say driver of SUV may have fallen asleep behind the whee., causing his vehicle to smash into an apartment building.
26-year-old Joseph Arthur Desseault was southbound on River Road when he crossed into the northbound lanes, went over a curb and struck the corner of the building.
Desseault was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
He was wearing a seatbelt and the vehicle was equipped with air bags, which deployed.
One of the apartment units at River Park Estates where the crash happened was occupied, but no one was injured.
