Anyone who honestly thinks he or she is safer not being armed has either not experienced a threat to their safety, or is under the illusion that the threats that people face are not serious. They also have little or no compassion for people who have faced serious threats. My right to be armed as well as your right to be armed is protected fortunately. I agree that for our government to deem itself able to disarm us is not only illegal, but impossible. The only people that will be disarmed in that case will be the citizens who are already trying to comply with the law. No criminal will ever give up his advantage. Patriots, however, will never allow themselves to be disarmed by the illegal actions of a corrupt and tyrannical government. If you don't love your liberty, then feel free to disarm yourself, but my liberty in assured as long as I have the will and tools to defend it.

As an American solider I choose to serve my country to protect the rights and freedoms that you have we don't ask why we do the things we do we don't complain and we always do our job. But every time I watch the news and see people attacking and destroying the very things we die for and have died for for hundreds of years it makes me very sad. All of this is stupid because the very people that are trying to take our guns away and make us give up our rights are the same people that havnt done anything for our country but complain and live in this dream world that they will be safer when there are no guns because they live in fear every day of there life thinking that some crazy person is going to shoot them down. Well I can tell you one thing that is true its that the moment a crazy person is trying to break into your house and hurt your wife your kids or your damn dog you are really gonna want that semi automatic assault rifle in your hands because thoes bad people will not be following your crazy gun laws that's why there bad people. And you pothetic anti-gun protesters need to realize that the only reason that the United States is the most powerful country is because our people have guns and if you are still scared go buy a gun it's no different then buying a car with a good crash rating because your scared of a car wreck killing you. And I know that your too scared to join the military, law enforcement, and first responders which is fine but all I ask is to stop shitting on every thing we stand for because we do these things for you. Thanks. Airborne all the way.

We are talking about undermining the Constitution of the United States of America. If these bills pass they will be in direct conflict with the 2nd Amendment. The Bill of Rights does not restrict the people, it restrict the government, and the 2nd Amendment says that government cannot "infringe" on our right to bear arms any more than it can infringe on our 1st Amendment right to free speech. Everyone should be speaking out in their loudest voice against these liberty robbing bills being put forth in the Oregon Legislature. Write your Oregon congressman tell them to kill HB3200 and any other bills related to firearms. Your right to bear arms defends your right to free speech, hold fast to both, speak out know before it's to late.

Balder Dash People-I don't trust anyone with a gun especially the guys who think guns are an extension of the arms. We aren't at war here or are we, some vet's have PTSD, some cops go berserk, some lameos leave guns around for chilren or the mentally unstable. What comes around goes around enough for everybody to blow each other away, which has become a daily event. Now you all would like to silence me machine gun style, right? People like Oscar Pistrious, very level headed, a fake hero, temporary madness or poor judgement...........

http://www.leg.state.or.us/13reg/measpdf/hb3200.dir/hb3200.intro.pdf I served over 20 years on active duty. I'm not giving up my guns that I own either. I've broken no law, and my guns have hurt no one.

MR. Espy is 100 % right. I agree I think that these people forget they are employed by the tax payer.

I also agree with Mr.Espy and want to thank him and all of our current and past millitary vets for their service. As an Army vet myself, I believe we sould be asking our politicians exactly how many criminals are going to obey any of their gun or magazine bans. The only thing their bans are going to accomplish is to restrict the law-abiding citizens 2nd Amendments rights. It's up to all of us to contact our legistlators and political leaders and tell them not to tread on our rights or we'll vote them out of a job.

I am absolutely in total agreement with Mr. Espy (thank you so much for your service) and dtomdick and Plato. There is nothing that will make me give up my rights, and especially not for those who can’t see that these so called “protections” will never work, and are only going to prevent good people from protecting themselves against criminals and a corrupt government.

The word "change" ought to be abolished from politics and agendas. Change is how they do it. Change is how they grab an inch of real estate, and then go for more until they have the whole lot. If the people that want "change" in our gun laws are so enamored with countries like China, move there, don't monkey with our constitution. Keep your cotton pickin hands of our firearms. We have seen how all this "change" is working lately. The country is currently on a fast downhill slide.
