As the investigation continues, detectives have determined that Maready was driving a dark blue Dodge truck eastbound in the westbound lanes when it struck the red Chevy Aveo driven by Brooks.

The wreck happened at about 8:15 Tuesday night.

Emergency responders closed the area to through traffic in both directions from the Washington/Jefferson Bridge to the Delta Highway.

the accident yesterday but no names were released, after the names were released I got a call from my mother telling me that the man arrested and charged with the manslaughter was my grandfather. Even though he is family I am glad he is in jail. I have absolutely no remorse for drinking and driving! I cannot express the angry I feel towards him and the sorrow I feel towards the gentleman that lost his life and his family! If anybody in his family reads this please feel free to find me on Facebook. There isn’t much I can do to help with your loss, or the grieving process, but I would like to know any possible way of helping. Please look up Justin Maready, I would be honored to learn more about the man and his family that my grandfather so negligently took away from this world! Thank you and god bless!

A comment on your broadcast said this was a "life changing event for McCoy." I hope so. He caused a man - who thought he was on his way home to his wife - to die in a fiery crash. Life changing for the victim, without question.
