PAW PAW, Mich. (AP) - Police say a Michigan man got the ride of a lifetime after his wheelchair became lodged in the grille of a semi-truck and was pushed down a highway.

Police haven't released the name of the man, who was wearing a seat belt. They say he was taken to a hospital yesterday as a precaution.

Police say the man in the wheelchair pulled in front of the truck as it left a gas station in Paw Paw, about 140 miles west of Detroit.

The truck drove about four miles -- at speeds up to 50 miles-per-hour -- before officers stopped the driver, who said he had no idea he had a wheelchair entangled with his truck. Officers say the driver didn't believe it until he stepped from his cab and saw the man.

The 21-year-old in the wheelchair apparently was unfazed by the incident. Police quote him as saying, "It was quite a ride."
