Twin tornadoes devastate Nebraska town

PILGER, Neb. (NBC) - Survivors are coming back to what's left of their battered community.

"That's the floor there," Larry Nelson said, surveying the rubble where his home once stood. "Part of the roof is over there."

Not much in Pilger is where it's supposed to be anymore. Officials say 75 percent of this farming community was wiped away by massive twin tornados.

Two people were killed, including a 5-year-old girl.

As Nebraska Gov. Dave Heinemann toured the strike zone, he offered hope - and help - for those most affected by the storms.

"We want to do all we can to help you out," he said.
