Cottage Grove, Ore. (KMTR) - Oregon State Police troopers are continuing to investigate a two vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Highway 99 north of Cottage Grove.
The female driver of one vehicle died. The driver of the second vehicle was injured.
Preliminary information indicates on April 8, 2012 at approximately 3:00 a.m., a head-on collision occurred between a pickup and passenger car on Highway 99 near Saginaw Road. Investigators say a Dakota pickup driven by Jeremy C. Henry, 33, of Cottage Grove was northbound when Henry lost control, crossed the centerline and crashed into a Ford Focus driven by Teresa Marie Grondona, 40, also of Cottage Grove.
Grondona was taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend where she was pronounced dead.
Henry was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. He was later released and booked into the Lane County Jail on charges of manslaughter, DUII and reckless driving.
