Corvallis (KMTR) - A Corvallis husband and wife are jailed after a domestic argument leads to gunfire.
Just after midnight on Monday, February 6th, Corvallis Police Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 2800 block of Southeast Collins Place. Callers to 911 reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area.
At about the same time, the Corvallis 911 center received a 911 call from Geoffrey Roose. He told dispatchers his wife had just shot at him multiple times.
When officers contacted Roose away from the residence, they observed multiple bullet holes in his G-M-C Denali. All of the bullet holes were in the front drivers side of the vehicle, including one round through the windshield on the drivers side.
Roose told police that he and his wife Carryn had been involved in an argument because she was, in his opinion, drunk and should not be driving. Carryn had driven to a location on Sulfur Springs Road to ride her horse. She had driven her sixteen year old daughter with her to the Sulfur Springs location. Geoffrey Roose drove to the location and confronted his wife about her driving while intoxicated. After a verbal argument, Carryn and her sixteen year old daughter rode away on horses, and Geoffrey Roose took the keys to her vehicle and left.
Police say Geoffrey Roose returned home. He was still at the home when Carryn Roose arrived after getting a ride from friends. Geoffrey, Carryn and their sixteen year old daughter were involved in a physical altercation at the front door of the residence upon Carryn's return.
Geoffrey Roose told police that he got into his vehicle to leave the residence. Carryn Roose went into the home, retrieved a 9mm handgun, and stood in front of the Denali firing multiple rounds into the vehicle where her husband was seated.
When Geoffrey Roose left the scene, Carryn Roose went back inside the house where she called 911.
Dispatchers directed her outside to waiting officers where she was taken into custody without incident.
Carryn Roose was charged with Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Endangering and Domestic Harassment.
Geoffrey Roose was also charged with two counts of Domestic Harassment.
