Eugene (KMTR) - A Veneta man was in critical condition after he was hit by a pick up truck as he walked along a country road Tuesday.
The accident happened around a 4:15 in the afternoon on Clear Lake Road near Goodman Road. Lane County sheriff's deputies say a Eugene man, Georgios Karabinis, was driving west on Clear Lake Raod when his truck hit Douglas Brentano.
Brentano was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.
Clear Lake Road was closed for several hours while deputies investigated.
Investigators say they do not believe alcohol was involved.
