This situation has nothing to do with the gun ban or any other ban. My heart goes out to the family of the many whose life was lost. Just a thought, it is already illegal for convicted felons to have weapons, guns or knives. But as we all know that is really no deterrent because criminals do what they do best, they break the law. I don't think that having assault rifles at this trailer park would have helped this situation. Adding assault rifles to a dysfunctional situation in a populated area seems to be a good argument for people advocating a ban. Perhaps a better idea would be to give us the police force we need and the social services we need to combat the drug problem in the rural areas and in Lane County instead of pretending we don't have drug problems here. We have been ignoring it for years and that has not solved the problem. If you put them in jail they are out before the ink is dry on the report. That is no deterrent either, quite the opposite.

Knife attacks are - statistically - more deadly than firearms attacks. England disarmed their people and crime soared - particularly knife attack crimes. Now they have, hard to believe as it is, deprived the citizens of knives and if you are caught with a knife - it's jail time. The only exceptions are if your work requires a knife and you are en route to or from your work place. This is why crime has exploded in England (and Australia and other gun-free countries), and is why now London has more persons of color than native Britons. Oh by the way, this is what the Obama Gang wants for the USA and left-wing Oregonians want for our state.

I suppose there going to want to take our knives away from us now, there's more stabbing deaths in the usa than there is gun caused deaths. this will be the lefts next big push, and then before ya know it we'll al be check in to the jail at night after work so no one can kill each other, will only die then from the lack of health care.
