EUGENE - LaMichael James will declare for the NFL draft and skip his senior year with the University of Oregon Ducks, the Oregonian reported Wednesday.

However, the University of Oregon's sports information department denied that any decision regarding James’ future has been made. So has James, through a Facebook posting.

A source KGW spoke with said James is going to the NFL, but that James and the school don't want the distraction leading up to the Rose Bowl.

James became the first rusher in Pac-12 history with three straight 1,500-yard seasons. He moved into a tie with USC's LenDale White (2003-05) for second on the league's career rushing TD list with 52.

James ran for 219 yards and three touchdowns and No. 8 Oregon beat UCLA 49-31 in the inaugural Pac-12 championship game for the Ducks' third straight conference title last month.

They take on Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 2.

"Oregon's juggernaut rise to college football greatness" Bwa-ha-ha-ha, now THAT was good funny!!! A 'powerhouse' in the pac12 should still start off each season playing a SEC team just to keep the pampered pansies up here humble till Decembe when they start talking about next season until they play another real team! Phil Knight bought everything worth anything at the U of O so maybe ask Phil Knight to buy one of those National Championships that seem to be well out of reach for the, uh, 'mighty' Ducks...You have such a ferocious, scary, intimidating QUACK!! LOL!!!!!!!Keep dreaming, even Phil Knight can't buy your weak high school caliber team a title!

Ah, yet another person who feels threatened by Oregon's juggernaut rise to college football greatness. Easy to find naysayers, all one has to do is find success. Oregon is and will continue to be a powerhouse, like it or not "Christa" sorry.
