: ODOT/SW Oregon: Oregon 42 remains closed as ODOT maintenance crews work to clear away falling rock from a slide at the Coos County-Douglas County line (MP 45.5) east of Myrtle Point.

ODOT currently estimates the eastbound lane will reopen by 8 p.m. Monday. Motorists should expect 20-minute delays as flaggers and pilot cars provide traffic control around the slide area.

Some of the falling rocks are as large as 2-4 feet in diameter. ODOT maintenance employees will remain on scene overnight to monitor the slide as conditions can change rapidly.
