Mason, at what point did I say this fellow deserved to die? I don't know him so I don't know what he "deserves". His actions were foolish at the very least, his family is affected by the results of those actions which is sad. Still my sympathy is with law enforcement officers who're brave enough to put their lives on the line to protect the rest of us from other people's bad behavior.

I'm sure he could careless if anyone gave a damn. And I'm certainly not asking for sympathy for him.But to (wish a man dead) is pointless.Especially when its out there for his family and friends to hear it.

While wishing someone dead may not be the most appropriate comment, I have a hard time with your "point" Mason. The only ones suffering are not just him and his family. You may want to consider how this affects the people that were exposed to this violent action. Can you imagine how afraid they were, or their families for that matter, wondering if their family members were hurt. Or the fear the officers family has knowing that they very well could have lost their loved ones. In addition to that, the officer involved has to live with this for the rest of his life. As far as suffering goes, I think there are defiantly more people suffering from the actions of this criminal than him and his family. I feel for his family but sympathy for him is a bit of a stretch.

Again your missing my point serenity.I'm sure his mom is going to try and raise him right. But my point is simple...wishing someone dead is wrong. If someone else had gotten hurt because of his actions, then maybe. But as far as I'm concered, the only ones suffering is him and his family.Would you like to tell his little boy "Your dad deserves to die".And if so,consider this my last comment.

Tell me, Mason, since it sounds as if might know: Will his son be taught that 'a bad cop shot poor dad', or taught that 'dad made a bad decision and we want to teach you (the son) how to make good decisions'? I sure hope it's the latter - and that they do raise him to grow up as the best kid he can be. He doesn't have to live dad's life all over again, and it's depressing how many children do....

I never claimed that the kid was not at fault whatsoever. My point is and always will be,wishing someone dead is a classless thing to do.And yeah,I know the guy and his family. He made some very bad decisions in his life. And now he and his family are suffering because of his recent decision.

While I feel sorry for the wounded man's family, no one has any right or any reason to "menace" people with a firearm. When doing so they show no concern for others in their vicinity (or their potential victims' family and friends), they show no concern for the officers responding (or his or her families and friends), and they have the full responsibility for whatever happens to themselves as a result. My greatest sympathy in this situation is for the officer.

And that "perp" is damn lucky that nobody else was injured while he was busy shooting at the officer.
