Oregon State Police say the missing child is Skylar Meldin Coulcer-Jarding. He is a white male, 3’6” tall, weighing 45 to 50 pounds with sandy brown hair. He wears thick glasses, is cross-eyed and has a speech impediment.

Investigators say the boy was taken about 5:40 AM Wednesday from a home in The Dalles when a man identified as Brian Lester DePriest, 36, of The Dalles, entered the home, assaulted someone with a hammer and took the boy to a waiting stolen car and left.

DePriest is 6’4” tall, weighs 210 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. He was said to be wearing a black hoody sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The car police are looking for is a bluish-green 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier with Oregon license 229 BUK. The car is said to be in fair condition and has a dolphin sticker on the trunk area.

Anyone who sees the vehicle, the suspect or the child is asked to call 911 or (866) 5AMBER5.
