UPDATE: Oregon State Police has been notified the suspect and child who were the subject of Wednesday morning's AMBER Alert in The Dalles were both located. The child, Skylar Meldin Coulcer-Jarding, age 5, is reported safe and the suspect, Brian Lester DePriest, age 36, is in custody.
More details will be released later when authorized by The Dalles Police Department.

THE DALLES, Ore. (KMTR) -- The kidnapping of a 5-year-old boy early Wednesday morning in The Dalles has triggered an Amber Alert in Oregon.
Oregon State Police say the missing child is Skylar Meldin Coulcer-Jarding. He is a white male, 3’6” tall, weighing 45 to 50 pounds with sandy brown hair. He wears thick glasses, is cross-eyed and has a speech impediment.
Investigators say the boy was taken about 5:40 AM Wednesday from a home in The Dalles when a man identified as Brian Lester DePriest, 36, of The Dalles, entered the home, assaulted someone with a hammer and took the boy to a waiting stolen car and left.
DePriest is 6’4” tall, weighs 210 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. He was said to be wearing a black hoody sweatshirt and blue jeans.
The car police are looking for is a bluish-green 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier with Oregon license 229 BUK. The car is said to be in fair condition and has a dolphin sticker on the trunk area.
