EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- A University of Oregon Police Department (UOPD) investigation has resulted in the citing of a UO undergraduate for three recent incidents of campus graffiti and vandalism.
Terence Andrew Ogburn, 24, of Eugene, was cited on Tuesday, December 11 for three counts of criminal mischief related to graffiti found on a university sign at Franklin Boulevard and Agate Street on December 4 and graffiti and bicycle locks on doors at Oregon Hall on December 3 as well as graffiti again at Oregon Hall on December 10.
The investigation revealed that Ogburn may have committed other crimes that are under investigation elsewhere in Eugene and Lane County.
The graffiti left at Oregon Hall and on the sign at Franklin and Agate made references to mottos and sayings of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Ogburn, a pre-business administration major, is not a member of the Beta Rho chapter of Beta Theta Pi at the UO, nor any other chapter of the national fraternity. Ogburn lives at the Alpha Omega House, a Christian co-op run by the First Baptist Church. It is not affiliated with any UO fraternity or sorority.
Information from various campus and community partners greatly assisted the UOPD in its investigation.
