I drive truck with Doubles. I agree the driver was being reckless. A professional driver does a pretrip inspection of the vehicle which includes brake check. If OSP and ODOT do not press charges the school authorities and the parents should press charges, i would if my children were involved. Dont forget people you can make a citizens arrest.

There seems to a bad apple in bunch of anything, I hope he had a urine test for unknown substance-hard to believe he was allow to continue to drive with the failure of the brakes-I shocked he was allowed to continue on in such an unsafe vehicle

Ricky When someone get's hurt bad enough or killed is when the state will get involved with dealing with the driver as far as their license goes. I agree take the truck and put him in jail for reckless driving and defective equipment for the brakes, If he knowingly drove with bad brakes he should get a larger fine.

Just another oblivious, uncaring, speeding truck driver. The kind who kills innocent people every day. When, When, WHEN will Oregon put some teeth into the rules of the road that keep us, and our children safe? How about a law that would have confiscated that truck and it’s load? How about revoking that drivers CDL for life to make absolutely sure that he CAN’T do this again. How about a fine so large that the business who owned that truck would make very, VERY sure that he only hired careful drivers from now on. How about a law that would have sent that driver to prison for life for injuring or killing one of those children? When someone drives like this, it’s not an “accident”. It’s a willful act of disobedience and arrogance. I know what it feels like to have nothing but a roadside memorial left of a young beautiful child who won’t have her life to live. Some speeding, uncaring, arrogant slob took hers……. Look in your rear view mirror, he’s probably tailgating you right now…….

As I live up the McKenzie these loggers are dangerously all over the road, 10-12trucks per hr pass my residence (loggings' up 35% since last yr. the weightmaster verified) at speeds up to 70 mi. per hr. They are cutting and moving those logs as fast as they can, before people can notice, this is an event coming from too much logging.

osp and odot will have a field day with that truck and driver. No brakes OUT OF SERVICE no questions asked. He could have killed everyone involved. Good driving on the bus drivers part.
