SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (KMTR) -- The deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary earlier this month hit close to home for students, staff and parents at Thurston High School. In 1998, a 15-year-old student opened fire at Thurston, killing two classmates.
Following the incident in Connecticut, the Thurston community is sending support to the East Coast. A portion of a letter from Thurston's principal reads: "We remember the love and prayers that were sent to us and, in an effort to pay that kindness forward, we wanted to send to you our love, our hope and our faith, so that you may heal in your own time from this tragedy."
Students sent over one hundred cards to Connecticut and put together this
video as a tribute to the Sandy Hook community.
