Eugene (KMTR) – The Oregon Ducks are getting ready for a Thursday night game at Autzen Stadium and so are the people who manage traffic in the area.

It will be the only regular season weeknight game at Autzen this season and it’s also the first home game since fall classes began at the university.

The expected crush of traffic has prompted some changes to accommodate fans heading to the game as well as employees and customers of businesses in the area. Duck fans are being reminded to be respectful of the businesses that stay open until 5:00 p.m., since the Autzen Stadium parking lots will open at 2:00 p.m.

“We want to get the word out to our local folks that aren't planning on coming to the game to really be cognizant of the increase in traffic around that area, and to think about using alternative routes,” said Eugene Police Sergeant Derel Schulz.

Since Lane Transit District is committed to its weekday bus schedule, some bus stops will be changed. Rather than the usual eight game day Park & Ride locations, there will be only five on Thursday.

The regular locations which will be open are at the Lane County Fairgrounds in Eugene, Symantec in Springfield, Valley River Center, and on Willamette Street between 10th and 11th Avenues.

The Springfield Station Park & Ride will be closed, so LTD has set one up at Eugene Christian Fellowship on Game Farm Road for use on Thursday only.
