EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- For the second time in a month, crooks have hit the Lane Pregnancy Support Center. The latest incident occurred at the center's west Eugene location. Agency staffers hope the public can help police catch the burglars.
The site on West 11th Avenue is being renovated as a medical facility. Last weekend, someone broke in through a fence and stole a trailer full of tools worth $10,000.
General contractor Jordan Kellogg said his first reaction was, “Maybe someone is, hopefully, playing a trick on us. But that was not the case. The trailer was gone, so obviously [it’s] a big disappointment.”
“Oh, it's always discouraging when you're taken advantage of and victimized in any way,” said Beverly Anderson of the Center. “But it's especially discouraging that it was tools that were stolen.”
The burglary is slowing plans for Lane Pregnancy Support Center to expand. Three weeks ago, someone broke into the support center's other location on 13th Avenue and took office equipment.
