SALEM, Ore. (KMTR) -- A suspicious package left in an office at the State Capitol Tuesday morning was determined to contain general paper items after Oregon State Police (OSP) bomb technicians responded and x-rayed the package.

According to Lieutenant Terri Davie, on September 4th, at about 10:50 AM, OSP troopers at the State Capitol responded to a reported suspicious package left by an unidentified man in one of the offices of the Governor.

About twenty employees were directed to go to other areas of the building until bomb technicians could safely check to determine what was inside.

At approximately 11:25 AM, bomb technicians confirmed the package contained paper items and all displaced employees were allowed to return to their offices.
