Suspect sought after armed robbery at Santa Clara area market

SANTA CLARA, Ore. (KMTR) -- Police and deputies are looking for an armed man accused of robbing a Santa Clara area market Sunday evening.

The robbery happened just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 6th, 2011, at the Irving Market on Prairie Road in Eugene.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says a clerk was robbed at gunpoint by a white male. The suspect got away on foot with some cash.

The suspect was last seen heading westbound towards Prairie Road.

Eugene Police, Springfield Police and the Lane County Sheriff’s Office all responded, using K9 units in attempts to track the suspect. Officers and deputies were unable to locate him though.

Deputies are looking for a white male around 25 years old with a slender build, around 5’8’’ to 5’11 tall. The suspect was last wearing a dark sweatshirt with white paint on it, white painter pants, also a black respirator, black gloves and grey rubber inserts. The suspect was also carrying a round 5 gallon bucket.
