EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- Some local superheroes spent Sunday doing a little spring cleaning in the Whiteaker neighborhood at the fifth annual Great Whiteaker Spring Cleanup Celebration. Volunteers spruced up Scobert Gardens Park, decked out in superhero costumes.

Organizers say dozens of local businesses contribute to make the celebration possible - it's not your typical cleanup event. Volunteers got a free meal, listened to live music and some even won prizes. Organizers estimate 200 people helped clean up the park this year.

Every little bit helps and saves tax dollars. Good for the volunteer workers, good for you.
