CORVALLIS, Ore. (KMTR) - A new logo and new threads for athletes are unveiled at Oregon State University, but not all Beavers are believers of the new design.

The new logo and uniforms were unveiled Monday night on campus.

Several current student-athletes modeled the image that was leaked online. It's a sleeker design, replacing the cartoonish Benny the Beaver.

Sports Marketing Director for the University of Oregon, Paul Swangard, said the goal of any logo is to create a brand that will attract potential students while creating an identity.

Meantime OSU students have mixed feelings about the design.

The new uniforms will debut on the field and on the court starting in August.

When they say, "It's not about the money". It's about the money. They lie. No honor, No truth, money, money, money and more of that green stuff, or should I say Orange and Black.

Marketing, marketing, it's all about marketing. The folks in Corvallis might want to take note of the reaction to earlier attempts to "modernize" the Oregon Duck. It can't always be about money all the time.
