Springfield (KMTR) - Several Springfield schools were put in lockdown mode Tuesday morning.

Police say a juvenile was observed in the area of Springfield high school walking with what appeared to be two firearms.

The area schools were put in a lockdown while the call was investigated.

The juvenile was located by school resource officer Jason Molony and the weapons were found to be a toy air soft type gun and a b-b gun.

Officer Molony found there was no criminal intent associated with the incident and he determined that no crime was committed.

The juvenile was counseled regarding transporting items that look alarming to others in the open.

People are right to be alarmed. Too many kids get their hands on the real thing. But even for this case, I'm glad the kid got at least that little bit of counseling. Realistic-looking pellet and BB guns have been used to threaten, rob, and even kill people. Here are 65 examples, just from this year, and just that involve children: http://kidshootings.blogspot.com/search/label/Pellet%20and%20BB%20Guns
