Harrisburg (KMTR) Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports that his deputies along with the FBI are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at approximately 1 p.m. today in Harrisburg.

Just after 1:00 p.m., the Linn County 911 dispatch center received a call that the Key Bank of Oregon, 310 South Third Street in Harrisburg, had been robbed.

Witnesses reported that a man brandished a handgun and demanded money. He was described as being a white adult, in his 20s, and wearing a mask, dark-colored backpack and a light-colored coat.

Upon taking an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled through a back door of the bank. No vehicle or direction of travel is known.

There were three employees but no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Lane County Sheriff's Office and Junction City Police Department in searching the surrounding area for the suspect.

If anyone has information, they are asked to call the Linn County Sheriff's Office at 541-967-3950.

Good point msWILDside...why are there not camera images that the public could see? Quite frankly though, I HATE Key Bank. I live in Harrisburg and opened an account there for making my banking easier. I closed my account very shortly after opening it there. The people of this location are just as pathetic as their so called policies. My guess is there are no images because no one working there is bright enough to know how to operate them.
