Douglas County, Or (KMTR) Search and Rescue crews are out for their fifth day, looking for a missing Roseburg hunter who disappeared after splitting up with his friend. Crews looking for Steve Litsey say the chance of snow on the way could make the already rough terrain even more difficult to manage.

The 71 year old was last seen Saturday hunting with a friend in the Twin Lakes area, about 55 miles east of Roseburg. The pair planned to met up later that day, but Steve never arrived. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says this year they've had more people reported missing than ever before.

They advocate using personal locator beacon devices like SPOT Messenger or Fastfind.  They say they’re relatively inexpensive and can be activated and transmit your position if an emergency arises.  The Fastfind only is used for emergency situations while the SPOT device can be used to "check in" with friends or family to let them know you are okay.

Steve Litsey is described as a white male, five seven, with white hair and glasses. He was last seen wearing camouflage clothing. Anyone with information on Litsey's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
