Eugene (KMTR) – The Eugene 4j School District is looking ahead to the new school year next fall and is putting procedures in place to handle the open enrollment policy recently passed by the school board.

Beginning Thursday, January 26, the district will hold informational meetings and school tours for parents and students.

Families may enroll children in their neighborhood schools any time, but those who want to sign up children for a different 4j school for the fall will need to submit a “School Choice” request form by March 23.

The first informational meeting is Thursday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the school district office, 200 N. Monroe St. in Eugene. The next one will be held February 23 at the same time and place.

Individual schools will be hosting tours for interested families during the weeks of January 30 through February 3 and February 27 through March 2. Each school has different activities and schedules for the tours, so parents should call ahead.
