Roseburg, Ore (KMTR) A Roseburg man accused of stealing an entire display case of gold rings from a pawn shop was arrested Monday, April 16th. Police say back in March 20 year old Spencer Monroe Strong got away with more than $5,000 worth of jewelry from Associated Buyers Shop on Stephens st.

Police say they didn't have trouble identifying the suspect, because Strong visited the same shop just hours before the alleged theft to sell a tool box. To sell at the shop, Strong had to present his I.D., which the shop photocopied for their records.

Strong was picked up by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office for a warrant. When Roseburg Police found out Strong was in jail they walked down and charged him with the March theft. The jewelry has not be recovered.
