SUTHERLIN, Ore. (AP) — Douglas County sheriff's investigators have ruled that a Sutherlin police officer was justified in using his Taser to subdue a woman who injured her head when she fell after being shocked.

Investigators say 36-year-old Erica Leif Price ignored police orders during a disturbance at her daughter's apartment. Price had to be hospitalized in Portland with a serious head injury.

Sutherlin police Chief Mike Mahler said Officer Jay Huskey had been on paid administrative leave since the Oct. 27 incident. He will now return to work.

Price's daughter said her mother was "very drunk" at the time and Huskey could have used other means to subdue her.
