Roseburg, Or (KMTR) Police say they received quite an unusual call yesterday. Roseburg rescue mission told them someone "donated" what appeared to be about a pound of marijuana the night before.

The rescue mission has a large donation area that's open 24 hours a day. Police say sometimes people will dump trash in the bins but this is unusual. Even though most of the pot is leaves and stems, this trash is someone's treasure. Police say it's still worth about thousand dollars.

Police are planning on destroying the marijuana, but they're keeping it now as evidence, until they find a suspect.

That person could be looking at felony charges, for possession and delivery of marijuana. The Roseburg Rescue Mission provides food, shelter, and care to homeless here in Roseburg. They're right downtown and always available for (non contraband) donations. You can visit them online here: http://www.roseburgrescuemission.org

lovred - that was funny. I will be glad to when the occupy crowd comes around and gives me a check. Or maybe I will do it with my next unemployment check.
