Has anyone seen the nice new pretty EPD building across the street from the Eugene Country Club lately...? Gov wants more money from those who already give so much in taxes while they need to learn to work within their means. Not build new buildings.

dtomdick is absolutely correct. They will not see another dime from me in support for any more tax increases until they prove they can live within their means. Hire some people that know how to balance a budget, adjust wages to the private sector levels. PUT SOME OF YOUR OWN MONEY IN PERS. If a 401k is just an amazing thing, why doesn't any public employee have one? Don't put on public display by releasing inmates and calling all the news stations down to film it. It's all a part of the parade they are putting on to get more money. Do you think anyone is the private sector has guaranteed raises.. do we just get to ask for more money every year because out budget is getting tight? NO! We live within our means. We CUT things out of our budget, we reduce spending. We don't go buy a bunch of new stuff then ask for a raise. It's time they pull their heads out and wake up.

Poll numbers can be manipulated, just look at the presidential race. Don't be fooled by the polls, do your own research. I will not vote for any additional tax unless and until government spending is brought under control. Employees need to be on a par with the private sector. Government employees need to have a retirement plan on par with the majority of the private sector. Benefits need to be on par with the private sector. Why should anyone pay more for something they can't have themselves, and because of having to pay more have no chance of ever obtaining something equivalent to the Government employees. Liberals and Progressives are always preaching fairness. A huge portion of Government employees are Progressive or Liberal Democrats, they need to start practicing what they preach, fairness and equity.

you won't get my vote, this city and county better start learning how to budget, we all have to and better start cutting some wages like has happened in the pivate sector and benefits, you all have it so bad.
