Eugene, Ore. (KMTR) -- Police are going door to door in the Barger area to warn folks about an increase in property crimes. Officers noticed the spike on Wednesday. The next day the Crime Prevention Unit was out canvassing the area with helpful information on protecting homes and cars.

The Seniors on Patrol team is also paying close attention to the area. Volunteers have added extra patrols to look for suspicious behavior.

A community meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 3 at Fairfield Elementary. It starts at 7 PM.
