Roseburg, Ore (KMTR) Police are looking for a man who they say stole thousands of dollars in gold rings.
Police say Wednesday afternoon, 20- year-old Spencer Strong came into Associated Buyers, a pawn shop on Stephens Street and asked to look at some white gold rings. When the employee brought out a tray with a selection of about 30 rings for Strong to look through, Strong grabbed the entire tray and ran off.
Associated Buyers does have surveillance tape of the incident, and did get a good look at Strong when he came in, but police say that's not how they identified him as their suspect.
Strong came into the shop earlier that same day and sold a tool kit. To sell to the shop, he had to present his I.D., which the shop photocopied for their records. Police say when he came back to steal the rings, the employee recognized him immediately.
The hard part, police say, will be locating Strong, who doesn't have a permanent address. If you recognize Strong, contact Roseburg Police
