Springfield (KMTR) - Police are trying to solve a pair of Sunday night robberies.

Springfield detectives are looking for the suspects who robbed a deli and a convenience in apparently-unrelated crimes.

The first robbery happened at 6:25 p.m. at Jasper's Deli, at 58th and Main Streets. Police say a man in his mid-20s walked in and demand cash from an employee. No customers were inside the store at the time. The suspect took the money and ran off. Police are looking for a white man; about six feet tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a light-colored T-shirt, a black vest and grey knit stocking cap pulled down over his face

About an hour and a half later, officers were called to an armed robbery at the Dari Mart store on "M" Street, where investigators say a man walked in with two guns and demanded money from the clerks. That suspect was described as a white man; about 5’5” tall with a thin build. He was dressed in all black with a scarf covering his face.

Anyone with helpful information is asked to call the Springfield Police Department at (541) 726-3714.
