It is sad that a death is caused of closing it down!!! all it is a homeless camp... and the thing that pisses me off the most is parents who have there kids out in this freezing weather at night and not in school. BS. But no drugs or achohol or vilonce should be around when there are KIDS there... this whole thing makes me mad. i have not seen or heard of 1 protest for over a month or so. All it has been is HOMELESS camp. get a job and a house.

This fight was caused by the man who wandered into the encampment drunk, looking for trouble. No one is being prosecuted because no person can be. Occupy protests attract the destitute and homeless because it offers services and support to those in need. Free medical attention to those willing to come in, three meals a day, a book tent, a clothing tent, counseling.. etc. This is what government should be. Its a shame that the city used this to close the whole encampment down. Of coarse there will be fights. Alcoholism and drug addiction are rampant problems in the homeless population. But they are people who have turned to these substances to remedy the lack of love and care early in life. If we want these probelms to go away, we must treat them at their source. Humanity is only as strong as it's weakest link. Occupy protests haved become a great opportunity for the average citizen to step in and take part in the restoration of our community, country, and humanity in whole. Parents who want to keep their children away from these substances should go help out with the homeless, learn from the addicts themselves why they turned to drugs, learn more about the substances themselves so they can identify the signs of drug use in their own household. Remaining oblivious and turning the cold shoulder can in no way help the situation. This isn't mainly a political protest this is a revival of values which touches on political misconduct. Something that has affected each individual and will continue to do so until the people unite to put an end to it.
