OSU launches wave energy test site and buoy off Newport coastline

A milestone for wave energy development in Oregon is now floating off the coast of Newport, as Oregon State University launches the first wave energy buoy test site in the United States.

A heater rated at 1000 watts (1 kilowatt), operating for one hour uses one kilowatt hour of energy. Spending millions to put an eyesore in the ocean, harming the environment for using a heater for 20 hours. If an average household uses 1500 kilowatts just imagine the cost. Put the millions into conservation.
