CORVALLIS, Ore. (KMTR) -- The Corvallis Police Department, working jointly with Oregon State Police, has developed a task force to continue the investigation into the recent attacks in Corvallis. Detectives and officers from both agencies continue to coordinate their efforts and resources to investigate tips and leads.

Between January 15 and January 26, two females were attacked within close proximity of each other. In both incidents, the nature of the attacks and the description of the suspect were similar. Police believe it is possible both attacks were at the hands of the same male.

On January 15 at 10:10 PM, the suspect attacked a female victim from behind and knocked her to the ground near SW 30th Street and SW Campus Way. The victim in that incident was able to provide enough information for investigators to develop a composite drawing of the suspect.

On January 26 at 7:30 PM, a male attacked a female as she was walking from her residence to her vehicle parked in her driveway. The male suspect approached the victim and tackled her . The suspect held her to the ground and struck her multiple times in the torso. The victim briefly struggled with the suspect at which point he fled the area. The victim was able to provide information to investigators to develop a second composite sketch.

The suspect is described as:
RACE        White
GENDER        Male
AGE        20s
HEIGHT        6'0" to 6'3"
BUILD        Athletic/Muscular/Bulky
UNIQUE FEATURE        Dark eyebrows (bushy) and eyelashes
CLOTHING        Black athletic style pants, white shoes, and a dark navy blue or black hooded, pull over style sweatshirt. In the first incident, the sweatshirt had 'OSU' printed across the chest. In the second incident, the sweatshirt had a white circle printed upon the back with cursive-style writing that extended from the lower left side of the circle, across the center, to the upper right.

The Corvallis Police Department would like to remind everyone to be constantly aware of your surroundings.  =At night, park your vehicle and walk in well lit areas. Walk with other people and walk with purpose and confidence. Report all suspicious and out-of-place persons and behaviors to law enforcement.

A tip line has been established to receive information from the community. Anyone with information that could assist law enforcement with this investigation is asked to call the tip line at 541 766-6432.
