EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- Ninkasi Brewing Company broke ground Thursday, right next door to the current facility. Company leaders dug in their shovels at 135 Blair Boulevard for a new office, warehouse, and distribution space.

More expansion is also on the way with a new production facility at 220 Blair. The new additions will allow Ninkasi to triple its production capacity. More beer is on the way and jobs are coming with it.

The company currently employs about seventy people. Ninkasi is looking to hire around 25 people this year and another twenty in 2013. Brewery representatives say they always planned to keep expanding in the Whiteaker neighborhood: that's where the brand started, and that's where they'll stay.
