Springfield (KMTR) - The old Springfield Middle School now has a new name, but it's not even open for classes yet.

It will reopen in the fall for former Brattain and Moffitt Elementary students.

The Springfield School Board decided to go with Two Rivers - Dos Rios Elementary School. The board wanted the name to reflect the location of the school and the diversity within it.

“Of course, we live here between the Willamette and the McKenzie and they're a big part of our life here in Springfield,” explained district spokesman Jeff DeFranco. “And also, [it was] a desire by some of the board members to acknowledge the diverse array of students by having Dos Rios be part of the school name.

Two other two names that were considered were Spring Mountain and Washburne

Why cater to the Mexicans? They have certainly done their part to make Springfield an even more scumbaggy place than it used to be.

Dispite the diversity HATE the name, this is not Mexico, it is the USA. Keep it up Springfield. Main St. is on its way to looking like Tijuana.
