Eugene, Ore. (KMTR) –West Eugene neighbors are sharing their concerns after police sent out a warning about a planned gang shooting.

Some are even reconsidering their trick or treating plans.

Police say this stems from a fight in September, between two gangs.

They say four gang members tried to shoot a rival gang but, according to police reports, the gun malfunctioned.

A follow up investigation indicated a planned retaliation on Halloween in the Churchill Village housing.

Officers went door to door last week to warn neighbors about the potential violence.
