NEWPORT, Ore. – A special music foundation has been created for underprivlidged children, in the memory of slain Oregon teen Cody Myers.
Myers was involved with several bands and loved music - especially jazz. He was murdered after a trip to the Newport Jazz Festival.
Before his death, Myers, 19, told his family that he had a passion to help lower income and underprivileged children who can’t afford musical instruments, music supplies or lessons.
That's why Cody’s family decided to establishe the “Cody Myers Music Outreach Foundation” to help those kids that Cody had dreamed about helping.
Anyone interested in making a donation to the “Cody Myers Music Outreach Foundation” can do so at any US Bank location.
At a recent candlelight vigil, Myers' father told supporters that Cody’s work on earth was done and he would serve God well in heaven.
A memorial for Myers has been scheduled for Saturday in the Osterman Theatre of the Niemeyer Center at Clackamas Community College.
