PORTLAND – A mom chased down a teen who she said had just abducted her 6-year old and hit him with a 2x4 until he let go of her daughter in Southeast Portland Sunday night.

The mom told KGW the girl had been playing outside, at a friend’s house when the young man grabbed her and took off.

Then, the mom jumped into a neighbor’s car and chased down the alleged abductor. When she caught up with him, she said she hit him with the board and rescued her daughter.

After that, the suspect ran off, but he was later captured by police, she said.

The alleged abduction happened near the intersection of SE 169th Avenue and Lafayette, in Portland.

Police said they would be releasing more details soon.

Mom's would do a lot more than this to protect their children theses days, unfortunately all to often people like this end up with bad publicity or jail time. I am glad he was caught, but i am sure he will get off on a lower offense and will do little or no time....

Why does the media always say "alleged" when it's obvious the person has committed the crime? Good job mom, glad you whacked him
