I don't understand all this Occupy crap. You people keep saying your "fighting for me" who asked you to?? Who the heck asked you to step in and fight for "Our" rights. Shouldn't you be worried about yourselves? I am not your 99% and I am not your 1 %. I just work and pay bills like every other normal citizen. I think its kind of sad that in our day and age people are complaining. My grandfather had it rough...Kids these days don't have it rough!!!! Its something else I tell ya. I refuse to let any of these "Occupyers" threaten me into thinking I have it so bad. I have a home, electric, heat, phones, food and family. My husband works his butt of for it but we have it. Im sorry for the people who lost thier home and so forth but the majority got into bigger loans than they could afford to begin with. How can you create debt then blame our government? Geesh!! I have student loans for college..Who do I expect to pay them? ME!!! Yep ME!!!! STOP ANNOYING PEOPLE over your own opinions of how is SHOULD be!!!

@ POSTALONE you seem to imply that I don't have a job. How many times can I say it? I HAVE A JOB! I LOVE MY JOB! I DON NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO ACCOMMODATE ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WANT MY SERVICES, THAT'S HOW GOOD I AM AT MY JOB! And all of my free time and energy are going to support Occupy. Why? Because we CARE about local residents and their families, and we care about YOU! Which would you prefer, 68 cents out of every dollar sticking around the local economy for every dollar you spend on a local, independent business, or 43 cents when you buy the same item from a national chain? Honestly, which in the long run is going to be better for those same local residents and their families? So many like to poo-poo Occupy's public "events": "This is stupid, this isn't accomplishing anything!" Well, if it got you even thinking a little about that last little tidbit of information, than we have accomplished a significant goal indeed! Thanks again for listening!

What is not being said in this article is the man who was arrested last night WAS NOT TOLD TO LEAVE! I was there and at every other spot we hit when we were told to leave we did, we left the W 11th walmart of our own volition after 15 min and gathered outside for some closing words, it was then a police officer told derek he was under arrest, THEY NEVER ASKED HIM TO LEAVE. then they told us to leave. Why did they single him out? What you won't hear in this article, is that we were also calling for walmart workers to demand fair representation and to unionize. They work for the biggest corporation in america, the CEO makes some obnoxious 60,000 an hour, while they are some of the lowest paid and worst treated workers. What this article doesn't ask is why can't the ceo afford health care for his employers. We have become comfortable and even brainwashed to defend our own slavery. Sad.

This was an outreach effort by occupy eugene as much as it was a protest, we must wake up from our current american dream because it is a nightmare for much of the rest of the world, I want you all to complain to the children who slave for 16 hours a day for less than a dollar a day about how OE inconvenienced your shopping experience. We must wake up as responsible people and refuse to sport exploitation. WAKE UP!!!!!!

Message from employed worker to occupy, GET A CLUE, the money may or may not leave this area that the stores make but the employees are local residents who work to support themselves and there families. You want to protest then camp out on defazios street or the capital or kitzcrappers home.

Time to question the rampant consumerism and the slave labor practices that make stuff at wal-mart so cheap. The money spent at wal-mart leaves our community and is used ultimately to suppress the human rights of people in China. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and support a local business and keep the money in the community. I am thankful that these courageous protesters are out there changing the dialogue about this topic. Thank you Occupy Eugene!

I can understand why shoppers may be disturbed, and right they didn't stop shopping. They don't mean too. This United States? no this world, is in immediate need to be changed, and what they few people brave enough, too shout out, is something they know, and feel you too need to know, because you are also the 99% but you have been fed a false reality, and deserve freedom of your mind, your body, and your soul.
