This is the tenth shooting in our area already this year, higher than this point last year, which was a record year. It'll be interesting to see if more is learned about this shooting. On a related note, on Mother's Day (May 13) there will be a march for gun violence awareness, sponsored by Ceasefire Oregon and Million Mom March, at 2PM, at EWEB plaza.

I can see how a couple of bullet wounds in the back of a person's head might explain why police have been unable to get clear information from him. I live very close to this area so would be very interested to know whether this shooting was just random or personal. Just a guess but, since this man walked to the hospital after being shot in the head, it seems he didn't have a cell and/or for some other reason didn't attempt to ask anyone for help, or to call for an ambulance or emergency assistance. I wonder, if this was one of the numerous homeless people that seem to "stay" around that area. I hope he's able to tell them what happened and they are able to make an arrest. In spite of the absence of other facts, a couple bullet holes in the HEAD suggest attempted murder, and the fact that it was in the BACK of his head, doesn't appear like he was facing the shooter or involved in a fight or assaulting anyone.(at least at the moment he was shot)

Sounds like there is a little more to this story then a randum bike path shooting.
