Eugene (KMTR) – A man shot himself to death in a Eugene movie theater just after midnight Monday morning.

Police say about 10 patrons were in an auditorium at Regal Cinemas watching the movie “Watchmen.”  About midway through the film some of the moviegoers told the manager they heard a “popping” noise like a gunshot.  A 24-year-old man was found in the rear of the auditorium with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say the man shot himself and was dead when they arrived.

The patron closest to the man was sitting two rows away.

I am almost embarrased to get in on this one, only the guy who put a bullet in his head knows why he did it, I would not even hazard a guess, and to those of you who seem to think themselves as such great intellects that they have all the answers to this are in my opinion the most arrogant of all...the guy reached a point in his life where it was no longer tolerable for him...to sit in judgement of him, or try to place blame somewhere is useless and infantile...shame on all of you who thinks you have any kind of answer to what this poor man must have been suffering to make the ULTIMATE decision, Shame, Shame, Shame on all of you...Dave

At least he just killed himself, and not the other 10 people in the theater BEFORE killing himself. Sad, to be sure...but it could have been much worse.
