Eugene (KMTR) - The Eugene man who pretended to be a police officer has changed his plea to guilty.

Police arrested Daniel Alloway in January.  They say he went by the name of Dan Baker when impersonating police.

When police searched his home they found uniforms, badges, a taser, pepper spray, and handcuffs.  They say he also had red and blue emergency lights inside the windshield of his Ford sport utility vehicle.

Alloway was sentenced Wednesday to two years of supervised probation and ten days in jail with credit for time served.

He also forfeited all materials seized by police during the investigation.

So ummm Homefront Security Task Force is a thing now? Did that come from a mail order kit called "How to pretend to be law enforcement if you can't pass the exams?" I served with this guy and whereas he wasn't a genius he was well meaning. I could not see him intentionally trying to hurt someone.

TWaldo, my bad! (I am not a proponent of name calling, even though I disagree somewhat with the poster you cite, who does seem to "ask for it" with that "moniker").

Impersonating a police officer!? Gosh, is it that easy to do? (Watch out. This statement can be taken several ways - especially from the viewpoints of a perpetrator or a "perpetratee" [coined word juxtaposed to perpetrator]).

This guy should get a warning and no more. All he did was give out teddy bears to kids, broke up a domestic dispute, and read to kid's on his spare time!? Why in the hell is EPD giving this guy crap? If anything he has helped your image, we don't like cop's here in Eugene.... and this is why, arresting good people like this!!!
