EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- Firefighter Larry Merrill says he got home from an overnight shift with Lane Fire Authority Tuesday morning to find one of his dogs missing.

Merrill says there's no way Bandit, aka Meathead, could have escaped on his own and his other dog was still in the kennel.  Now Merrill is asking for help to bring Bandit home for the holidays.

Bandit has a medical condition that requires regular medication. He also has a microchip. Merrill hopes whoever has Bandit will bring him into a veterinarian's office who can scan the chip. Anyone with information about the dog's whereabouts is asked to call Eugene Police.
