EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- When Scott Phillips' son was diagnosed with autism two years ago, he searched online for resources to help him deal with the diagnosis. He says he couldn't find much helpful information for fathers, so he decided to make something of his own. This week, Phillips' documentary 'Do it Differently' will premier at Bijou Art Cinemas. It profiles four fathers who all have children on the autism spectrum. Phillips says he learned a lot from the stars of the film about some challenges he'll likely encounter as his son grows.
The premier is Thursday night November 15 at 7 PM and tickets are available
online for $5. All four fathers and a couple therapists from the film will be at the screening for a question-and-answer period afterwards. Copies of the documentary will also be available to purchase with half of the proceeds going to the Bridgeway House, a local resource center for children with autism and other disorders.
